About
Diana Bashkova is a mixed media abstract artist based in Cracow, Poland.
Her work explores growth as a layered process — how what lies beneath continues to shape what appears on the surface. She uses fluid and structured marks to translate the tension between surrender and control, instinct and intention.
Working intuitively, she allows earlier layers to remain partially visible, creating depth and complexity. Each new gesture responds to what already exists, building upon previous decisions rather than replacing them. The accumulation of layers mirrors personal development, where experience does not disappear but integrates into a distinct and evolving whole.
Rather than erasing earlier stages, her process preserves them, allowing the work’s development to remain present in its final form.
Her artworks do not dictate meaning. They invite interpretation, offering space for reflection and quiet engagement.
